KINETIC
Selectric Kinetic switches are wireless, battery-free light switches that generate their own power when pressed, sending a radio signal to a receiver wired at the light or appliance. Part of the Selectric GRID360 system, they can be fixed almost anywhere without chasing walls or running switch cables.
This range includes Kinetic switches and key switches, receivers and modular plates in antique brass and black nickel, from 1 to 12 apertures. Buy on a trade account at trade prices, with next working day delivery across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland on in-stock orders placed by 5pm.

How to plan a Selectric Kinetic installation
Kinetic switching separates the switch from the wiring. The switch harvests energy from the press of the rocker and transmits a radio signal, and a paired receiver switches the load. Because the switch needs no mains supply or battery, it can be placed on glass, tiles, furniture or walls where cabling would be difficult.
Components you will need
- Kinetic switch or key switch: the transmitter the user presses
- Receiver: wired into the lighting circuit, in standard on-off or dimmable versions, with some adding Wi-Fi for app control
- Modular plate: in the finish and aperture count you need, such as antique brass or black nickel
- Optional fob: a handheld wireless switch for bedside or accessible control
Range and pairing
Selectric quotes a range of up to 80m indoors and over 200m in open line of sight, but walls, metal and other obstructions reduce this, so test the signal before fixing switches permanently. Each switch is paired to its receiver, and depending on the model a switch can be paired with more than one receiver for multi-point lighting. Check the receiver's load rating and the lamp type, especially when dimming LEDs.
Where Kinetic switching works well
It suits refurbishments where chasing walls would damage finishes, glass partitions in offices, kitchen islands and adding extra switching positions to existing circuits. Install the receiver to current wiring regulations and the manufacturer's instructions. For conventional modular switching, compare our grid modules, explore other smart lighting options, and see lighting controls and drivers when checking LED dimming compatibility.
Meteor Electrical has been supplying electricians for over 40 years. Order in-stock Kinetic products by 5pm for next working day delivery across NI and ROI, or allow 3 to 5 working days to England, Scotland and Wales.
