Cable companions are site aids and protective accessories that make handling, running and protecting cable safer and easier. Our range includes a CC Cable Carrier multi-reel A-frame dispenser with a 50kg maximum load and an SWA cable drum rotator for paying out heavy armoured cable.

For finished installations there are floor cable covers in single and 3-channel versions, each 1.8 metres long, and a 38mm hockey stick for meter box cable entries. Choosing the right cable companions

These products do not form part of the electrical circuit, but they save time and reduce strain on site and help keep finished spaces safe. Here is what each one does and where it fits.

Cable handling on site

Multi-reel A-frame dispenser: holds several reels at once so you can pull multiple cables together without them twisting or tangling. Check the combined weight against the 50kg maximum load.
SWA drum rotator: lets heavy drums of SWA armoured cable turn freely as cable is pulled, reducing effort and kinks.

Protecting cables in use

Floor cable covers protect leads running across floors in offices, events and workshops, and reduce trip hazards. Single-channel covers suit one or two leads, while 3-channel versions separate power and data cables. They are ideal alongside temporary lighting and power on site. For permanent floor outlets, consider a fixed floor box instead.

Meter box entries

A hockey stick is a curved duct that guides incoming supply cable from below ground into an external meter box with a smooth bend, protecting the cable where it rises out of the ground. Match the 38mm size to the cable and to your meter box, and check the network operator's requirements for service entries.

Safe use

Set dispensers and rotators on level, stable ground and never exceed their rated loads. Wear gloves when pulling cable, and use suitable protective equipment from our workwear and safety range.
