BG SyncEV
BG SyncEV is the electric vehicle charging range from BG Electrical. We stock the SyncEV Wall Charger 2, a 7.4kW tethered home charger with built-in Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity, so the cable stays attached and the unit can be managed through an app or wired network connection.
Installers can buy at trade prices, and in-stock chargers ordered before 5pm Monday to Friday are dispatched for next working day delivery across Northern Ireland and ROI.
How to choose and install a BG SyncEV charger
A 7.4kW single-phase wall charger is the most common choice for driveways and garages, roughly doubling or tripling charging speed compared with a standard 3-pin socket depending on the vehicle.
Tethered or untethered?
- Tethered (as stocked here) – the charging cable is permanently fixed, so drivers simply plug in. Check the cable length reaches the car's charging port.
- Untethered – a socket outlet that uses the driver's own cable, giving a tidier wall.
Connectivity
Wi-Fi and LAN allow scheduling, energy monitoring and off-peak charging. LAN is useful where Wi-Fi signal at the charger location is weak.
Installation and compliance
EV chargers need a dedicated circuit with suitable protection, correctly sized cable and attention to earthing arrangements. Assess the maximum demand on the existing supply and confirm the requirements of the network operator. Installations must comply with current wiring regulations (BS 7671 section 722 in the UK) and the manufacturer's instructions; check whether any grant scheme or registration requirements apply.
Supporting products include SWA armoured cable, RCBOs and cable glands. Compare other units in EV chargers.
