How to use Metpro fixings and boxes
The Metpro products we stock are small parts that make a big difference to how quickly and neatly an installation goes together.
What is in the range
- 1 gang 25mm extension box: adds depth behind a surface accessory, giving more room for cables or allowing a deeper accessory to be fitted.
- M6 penny washers: large-diameter washers that spread load on thin sheet, tray and soft materials.
- M6 x 25 roofing bolts and nuts: commonly used to join cable tray and trunking sections.
- M4 brass nuts and washers: for earth studs, terminal connections and accessory fixings, where brass offers good conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Choosing the right fixing
Match thread size to the component you are fixing and select a bolt length that allows full nut engagement. Use penny washers rather than standard washers where the material behind could deform. For earth connections, make sure contact surfaces are clean and fixings are fully tightened, and test continuity in line with current wiring regulations.
