Univolt
Univolt manufactures PVC conduit and cable management products used to protect wiring in domestic, commercial and agricultural installations. At Meteor Electrical, our Univolt range currently features 20mm heavy gauge white PVC conduit in 3m lengths.
Heavy gauge conduit gives robust mechanical protection for surface wiring of lighting and socket circuits. Account holders buy at trade prices, and in-stock Univolt conduit ordered before 5pm ships for next-day delivery to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
How to work with Univolt heavy gauge conduit
20mm heavy gauge PVC conduit is a staple for surface wiring in garages, outbuildings, plant rooms and commercial ceilings.
Why heavy gauge?
- Thicker walls give better protection against impact than light gauge conduit.
- Holds its shape well when bent with a matching heavy gauge spring.
- Suitable for exposed surface runs where cables may be knocked.
Fittings you will need
A complete 20mm run usually needs terminal, through, angle and tee boxes, plus couplers, saddles or clips and a heavy gauge bending spring. Inspection bends and tees help with drawing in cables on longer runs. Make sure all fittings are rated for 20mm conduit.
Installation tips
Cut conduit square with a fine-toothed saw and deburr the ends. Warm the conduit slightly before bending in cold conditions to reduce the risk of cracking. Fix with saddles at regular intervals and closer near bends and boxes. Allow for thermal expansion on long runs. Check current wiring regulations for support spacing and capacity.
Find all the fittings in 20mm round conduit and accessories, pick up bending springs from Decoduct, or browse the wider plastic conduit range.
