Choosing the right Envirograf fire pad
Cutting a back box into a fire-rated plasterboard wall creates a weak spot. Intumescent fire pads expand when heated, sealing the opening to help the wall maintain its fire performance.

- 2 Gang Fire Pad Internal DPG – for double sockets and 2 gang accessories.
Where they are used
Fire pads are common in flats, houses in multiple occupation, hotels, schools and other buildings with compartment walls or protected escape routes. They are also used in party walls between dwellings and around back-to-back boxes where fire separation could be compromised.
Fitting guidance
Fit the pad inside the box before the accessory is installed, following Envirograf's instructions for orientation and cable entry. Make sure the pad is the right size for the box and that cables are not trapped. Fire-stopping requirements depend on the building design, so check the specification, building regulations and the manufacturer's test evidence for the wall type.
