Picking the right clearance light fitting or lamp
Discounted lighting is a good way to fill a replacement, stock a van or light an outbuilding, but because quantities are limited, check the technical details before you commit.
Check the basics
- Supply voltage – a few fittings, such as a 48W emergency luminaire, are rated at 110V for site use rather than 230V.
- Lamp cap – E27, B22, E14, GU10 and ES caps are not interchangeable.
- Colour temperature – 2700K gives a warm tone, while 5000K suits task and retail areas.
- Dimming – pair dimmable lamps and drivers with a compatible dimmer.
- IP rating – IP65 fittings suit damp or outdoor spaces.
Emergency lighting on clearance
Emergency fittings, exit signs and a Ringtail central battery system appear in this range. Emergency lighting must be designed, installed and tested in line with current regulations and standards, so confirm duration, mode (maintained or non-maintained) and compatibility with any existing system before buying.
