Conduit Bending Machine

A conduit bending machine is a bench or stand-mounted tool that forms accurate bends and sets in steel conduit without kinking or flattening the tube. This category stocks the Termination Technology conduit bending machine and its matching Termination Technology 20–32mm vice for the BE2025 bender, which holds the conduit firmly while you work.

A worthwhile investment for contractors running steel containment in commercial and industrial sites. Trade pricing applies on account, and in-stock orders placed by 5pm on a weekday arrive next working day in NI and ROI.

Choosing and using a conduit bending machine

Steel conduit is still widely specified where mechanical protection, fire performance or a robust industrial finish is needed. A bending machine lets you shape it on site so runs follow the building neatly with fewer fittings.

What a bending machine does

The machine supports the conduit on a former and pushes it round with a lever or handle, so the tube bends evenly without collapsing. With practice you can produce:

  • 90° bends – for turning corners and dropping from ceiling to wall.
  • Sets (offsets) – two opposing bends that step the conduit past an obstruction or into a box.
  • Bridge sets – three bends to pass over another conduit or pipe.
  • Saddle sets – for crossing beams or obstacles mid-run.

What to check before buying

Confirm the conduit sizes the formers and guides cover, typically 20mm, 25mm and 32mm for electrical work, and whether a vice or stand is required. A vice such as the Termination Technology 20–32mm unit holds the tube square so bends stay in the same plane. Consider portability if the machine will move between sites.

Tips for neat bends

Mark the start of the bend clearly, allow for the bend radius when measuring, and make all bends in one length in the same plane before rotating. Deburr cut ends and protect any damaged galvanising with a suitable zinc paint. Steel conduit systems used as a protective conductor must have sound joints and continuity; check current wiring regulations and test after installation.
