Finding the right lighting accessory
The right accessory can turn a standard fitting into an emergency light, add automatic control or solve a mounting problem on site. Because most accessories are designed for specific products, compatibility is the first thing to confirm.
Main types of lighting accessory
- Emergency modules – convert battens, DD fittings, bulkheads and some panels into emergency luminaires.
- Sensors and remotes – dusk-to-dawn photocells, PIRs and the remotes used to commission them.
- Mounting hardware – floodlight ceiling brackets, ground spikes, wall brackets, suspension kits and foundation frames for bollards and posts.

Checking compatibility
Most accessories list the product ranges they suit, such as an emergency module for a particular batten or a trim for one bulkhead body. Check the fitting's model and wattage before ordering, and for emergency modules confirm the LED load and driver type. For sensors, check the maximum switching load and IP rating. For mounting hardware, confirm that brackets, spikes and suspension kits are rated for the fitting's weight and size.
Installation notes
Emergency modules need a permanent unswitched supply and testing to the relevant standards; complete emergency fittings are in our emergency lighting range. Fit sensors where they have a clear view of the area or the sky, and see our motion detectors for more options. Brackets and spikes for floodlights should be fixed securely to suit the conditions.
