Byron
Byron produces door chimes and bell systems for homes and small businesses. From Byron we currently stock the Byron Wired Door Chime, which connects to a bell push using low voltage bell cable for a reliable signal with no wireless pairing.
A straightforward choice for new builds and replacements. Trade customers receive trade pricing, plus next working day delivery across NI and ROI when in-stock items are ordered before 5pm.
Choosing a wired door chime
Wired chimes remain popular because they do not depend on signal range or interference. They suit new builds, extensions and any property where cable can be run between the door and chime.
Wired or wireless?
- Wired - no pairing or range issues, ideal where a cable route exists.
- Wireless - quicker to fit in finished properties, but relies on batteries and radio range.
What to check
Confirm how the chime is powered, whether by batteries or a bell transformer, and check the product details for the supply it needs. Make sure the chime is loud enough for the property and positioned where it can be heard, such as a hallway or landing. Consider whether you need a second chime for larger homes, or a louder unit where the occupant is hard of hearing or the house is noisy.
Installation tips
- Run low voltage bell cable between the bell push and chime.
- Keep low voltage cables separated from mains wiring as required by current wiring regulations.
- Fix cables neatly with suitable clips.
- Follow the manufacturer instructions for terminal connections.
