Control & Drivers

LED drivers and lighting controls are the devices that power LED modules and let you dim, switch and schedule them, from simple phase-cut dimmable drivers to networked DALI-2 and Bluetooth systems. This Kosnic range includes 20W to 40W DALI-2 drivers with 1-10V and push dimming, phase-cut dimmable drivers, Casambi Bluetooth drivers, RF drivers and triac dimmers, and SceneCOM DALI-2 controllers.

Wall switches, remotes, a DALI-2 power supply and push-wire connectors complete the line-up. Trade account holders see trade prices, and in-stock orders placed before 5pm are delivered across Northern Ireland and ROI the following working day.

How to choose an LED driver or control system

Many LED problems, from flicker to early failure, trace back to a driver or dimmer that does not suit the load. Matching the electrical output and the control method gets the job right first time.

Match the driver to the LEDs

  • Output type – constant current drivers (rated in mA) suit downlights, panels and LED modules; constant voltage drivers (such as 24V) suit LED strip.
  • Current or voltage – the driver output must sit within the LED module's specified range.
  • Wattage – the driver should be rated for the total load, with headroom where recommended.
  • Size and IP rating – check the space available and whether the driver is suitable for the location.

Choose the control method

Phase-cut dimmable drivers work with compatible wall dimmers and suit domestic and small commercial jobs. 1-10V drivers dim from a separate low-voltage control signal and are common with sensors. DALI and DALI-2 drivers are individually addressable on a two-wire bus, allowing grouping, scenes and feedback in commercial buildings, and need a DALI bus power supply and controller. Push dimming lets a standard retractive switch dim and switch fittings. Casambi Bluetooth drivers allow app and wireless switch control without extra control wiring, and RF systems pair drivers with battery-powered wall switches and handheld remotes.

Installation tips

Keep control and mains wiring separated where the manufacturer requires it, observe polarity on DC outputs and keep drivers ventilated and accessible. Check the maximum cable length between driver and LED module. For strip installations see LED strip lights, and for presence and daylight control see motion detectors. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and current wiring regulations.
