Product Information
The ATC Pacific W10-U is a 10 litre unvented water heater designed to sit under a sink, giving a local supply of hot water where running pipework from a central system is impractical. It is a good fit for small kitchens, staff rooms, offices, workshops and washrooms, and the manufacturer recommends it for serving two to three basins.
The 2000W element heats a full tank from 10°C to 65°C in about 19 minutes. The heavy-gauge tank is glass-lined and protected by a magnesium anode, and an external thermostat lets the user adjust the temperature, including an economy setting. The heater has 1/2 inch hot and cold connections with dielectric fittings and is rated for a maximum working pressure of 8 bar.

ATC recommends the W10-U for two to three basins. It is best suited to hand washing and light kitchen use rather than filling baths or sinks repeatedly. A full tank heats from 10°C to 65°C in about 19 minutes, so where demand is heavy or continuous a larger heater may be more suitable.
It is an unvented heater that runs from mains pressure, with a maximum working pressure of 8 bar. A pressure relief valve is supplied and must be fitted in the cold supply, not on the heater itself. Depending on inlet pressure, an expansion vessel or pressure kit may be needed. Check the manufacturer's instructions for the exact valve arrangement.
ATC's instructions say that with inlet pressure up to 4.1 bar you can allow for expansion in at least 2.8m of cold pipework before the non-return valve, or fit their Kit-A1 expansion vessel. Above 4.1 bar, Kit-B1 is required. If a pressure reducing valve is fitted, an expansion vessel must be used. Check the manufacturer's instructions for your installation.
The heater is rated 2000W at 220-240V. The method of connection and protection should be confirmed from the manufacturer's instructions, and the circuit must be designed and installed by a competent person in line with current wiring regulations. It is rated IPX4, but it should still be positioned where it is protected from leaks under the sink.
