What colour temperature do I need?
The amount of lighting required for a particular room is up to personal preference. Some end users would prefer a bright light whereas some would prefer a subtle light. The colour temperatures are:
3000K which provides a warm white light.
4000K/5000K provides a cool white light.
6000K provides a daylight light.
However, we have a wide range of dimmer switches available which can be used to control your lights. The dimmer switch allows the end user to provide less or more to suit the requirements of their room.
What does IP rating mean?
The Ingress Protection ratings are used to define the efficacy of electrical enclosures in sealing off foreign objects (tools, dirt, etc.) and moisture. The higher the IP rating the more protection is provided. Higher IP ratings are required for external lighting to ensure the lighting system is protected against various weather conditions.
What light temperature would you recommend for domestic environments?
The best lighting temperature for domestic environments including homes would be 2700K-3000K. This range of lighting provides a soft warm tone which is perfect for home environments where you want to relax including living rooms and bedrooms.
It is also advised to use 3500K-4500K lighting in kitchens and bathrooms to provide the neutral white lighting which will allow daily tasks to be completed with ease.
What light temperature would you recommend for industrial environments?
Choosing the correct lighting temperature is very important in industrial environments particularly for factories and warehouses. Bright lighting is required to maintain strong health and safety practices and keep staff productivity at the maximum efficiency.
The lighting temperature advised would be to use colour temperatures between 4500K-6000K to provide the bright and vibrate lighting in the industrial environment.
What light temperature would you recommend for commercial environments?
Within commercial environments, it is recommended to use 3500-4500K colour temperatures. The reason is because the colour temperature provides the perfect balance white tone of lighting required for the environment. Offices and retail environments required natural lighting to allow work responsibilities to be completed to the highest standard.
