Key specifications to check
Confirm the switching current against the load; a 16A thermostat can directly switch a typical underfloor heating mat, but larger systems may need a contactor. Check whether the device needs a neutral connection, whether it fits a standard single back box, and whether it requires a floor probe or air sensor. For Wi-Fi models, make sure the signal is reliable where the control is fitted.
Installation tips
When replacing an older control, note the existing wiring before disconnecting, as terminal layouts differ between brands. Room stats should sit on an internal wall away from heat sources.
