Bathroom Lighting
Bathroom lighting is lighting designed and rated for the damp, steamy conditions of bathrooms, en-suites and shower rooms, covering ceiling, wall and mirror lighting. Our selection includes Kosnic Mauna III fire-rated downlights and an IP65 GU10 fire-rated downlight with magnetic bezels, the Aurora 25W IP44 dimmable downlight, the Scorpius three-light spotlight plate, bathroom globe lights and the Eterna LED dual-voltage shaver light.
It is a focused range of proven fittings. Trade customers pay account prices, and we deliver in-stock orders the next working day across NI and ROI when you order before 5pm on weekdays.
How to choose bathroom lighting
A bathroom needs bright, shadow-free light for shaving and make-up, softer light for relaxing, and fittings that are safe in a wet room. Choosing the right product starts with where each light will go.
Understand the zones
Bathrooms are divided into zones based on distance from the bath or shower. Fittings closest to water need the highest protection against moisture, and in some areas only low-voltage or specially rated equipment is allowed. Outside the zones, ordinary fittings may be acceptable, but steam still makes an IP-rated fitting a sensible choice. Always confirm requirements in current wiring regulations, such as BS 7671 Section 701, before specifying.
Types of bathroom light
- IP-rated downlights give clean ceiling light and can be positioned over the shower or bath when suitably rated; more options are in our ceiling downlights range.
- Ceiling and globe lights provide general light from a single central point.
- Wall lights and shaver lights light the face at the mirror, reducing shadows.
- Spotlight plates allow adjustable GU10 lamps to be aimed where needed.
Specifications and installation tips
Check IP rating, fire rating for ceilings that require it, and whether you want integrated LED or replaceable GU10 lamps from our LED lamps range. Neutral or cool white helps with grooming tasks, while dimmable fittings let the room relax in the evening. Switch with a ceiling pull-cord or a wall switch outside the room, and remember that extraction is often installed alongside the lighting; see our extractor fans. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for every fitting.
