Batten fittings are long, slim surface-mounted LED luminaires that replace old fluorescent tube battens in garages, stores, corridors, plant rooms, schools and commercial spaces. We stock Kosnic Niva in 4ft, 5ft and 6ft single and twin versions with switchable wattage and colour temperature, Kosnic Arno, Kennet and Adda battens, the suspended Nachi backlit batten, and Trent non-corrosive models.

How to choose the right LED batten
LED battens are one of the simplest upgrades in electrical work: they light instantly, avoid fluorescent flicker and use less energy. The main choices are length, output, environment and control.
Length and output
- 4ft battens suit smaller rooms, cupboards and stores.
- 5ft battens are the most common like-for-like replacement for 5ft fluorescent fittings.
- 6ft battens suit larger spaces and replace old 6ft fittings.
- Twin versions give higher output where single battens would be underpowered.
Switchable wattage and CCT models such as Kosnic Niva let you set the output and colour temperature on site, so one product can suit a warm white corridor or a cool white workshop.
Choosing for the environment
Standard interior battens suit dry, clean areas. For car parks, wash-down areas or dusty buildings, choose a sealed non-corrosive fitting. In offices or retail spaces where a softer look is wanted, suspended or backlit linear fittings such as Nachi are an alternative, as are LED panels in grid ceilings.
Emergency, controls and installation
Many Kosnic battens accept a plug-in emergency module, so the same fitting can serve as emergency lighting on escape routes. Choose manual, self-test or DALI modules to suit the maintenance regime, and remember the fitting then needs a permanent live. For automatic switching in stores and corridors, pair battens with a sensor from our motion detectors range. Fix battens securely, check whether the model supports through-wiring if you plan to loop between fittings, and follow the manufacturer's instructions and current wiring regulations.
