Lamps & Tubes
Lamps and tubes are the replaceable light sources that fit into lampholders, from everyday GLS, candle and golf ball bulbs to GU10 spotlights, 2-pin and 4-pin LED DD lamps, linear tubes and capsule lamps. Our range includes Kosnic LED GLS, GU10 and DD lamps, filament candles in B22 and E27, S15 LED tubes, and AOne Bluetooth smart lamp kits.
Fluorescent tubes and starters are stocked for maintenance work. Trade customers get trade prices, and in-stock lamps ordered by 5pm on any working day are delivered next working day across Northern Ireland and the Republic.
How to choose the right lamp or tube
Picking a replacement lamp is quick once you know three things: the cap, the shape and the light you want. Matching these avoids return trips and makes sure the new lamp performs as expected in the fitting.
Browse by type
- LED lamps – GLS, candle, golf ball, GU10, G4, DD and smart lamps for most domestic and commercial fittings.
- Compact fluorescent – information on CFL replacements and LED alternatives.
- Linear and specialist tubes – S15 LED tubes for picture and mirror lights, T8 fluorescent tubes and starters for maintenance.
Cap, shape and light output
The cap is the most important match. Common caps include B22 bayonet, E27 Edison screw, B15 and E14 small caps, GU10 twist-and-lock and G4 bi-pin. Check the shape and size so the lamp fits under the shade or diffuser, then choose by lumens rather than watts, as LED lamps produce far more light per watt than older types. Colour temperature sets the mood: warm white around 2700K for living spaces, and cooler 4000K for kitchens, utility rooms and workplaces.
Dimming, control and compatibility
Only dimmable lamps should be used on dimmer circuits, and the dimmer itself should be rated for LED loads; see our controls and drivers range. Plug-in LED DD and tube replacements may depend on the existing control gear, so check the lamp manufacturer's compatibility guidance. Smart lamps, such as the AOne Bluetooth range, add colour change and app or remote control without rewiring. Lampholders and adaptors are in our lighting accessories.
