Product Information

This electronic coin prepayment meter from PJW Meters (Emlite range) accepts €1 and €2 coins and is rated at 100A for single phase supplies. Each coin buys credit at a programmed price per kWh, and the credit counts down as electricity is used. This makes it a practical choice for landlords, holiday lets, caravan parks, sports clubs and shared buildings where users pay as they go.

The meter can also be programmed in timer mode, so each coin buys a set period of supply rather than a number of units. This suits applications such as shower or court lighting timers. Its electronic coin validator rejects foreign and counterfeit coins, and its programmable standing charge and debt collection features help recover fixed costs.

  • Accepts €1 and €2 coins
  • 100A single phase, direct connected
  • Prepayment kWh or timer mode
  • Programmable standing charge and debt collection
  • MID approved

The meter is wall mounted and should be installed by a competent electrician. Installation must comply with current wiring regulations.

Yes. The tariff is programmed into the meter, and each coin buys credit at the set price per kWh. The programming method and any option for factory pre-programming are set out in the manufacturer's instructions. Review the tariff whenever your own supply price changes.

Can it be used as a timer instead of a kWh meter?

Yes. The meter can be programmed in timer mode, so each coin buys a fixed period of supply. This is often used for showers, sports court lighting, laundry equipment or similar shared facilities. Check the manufacturer's instructions for how to set the time per coin.

Is it legal to resell electricity through a coin meter?
