Tado: The heating system that has your heating on before you get home

Tado a new intelligent heating system is due to be released to the UK in the next few weeks. It is believed that this new system can save you money on your heating bills. It works in a similar way to British Gas as it allows you to control your heating and monitor it through an app on a smart phone.

Tado however is some what unique over its fellow competitors as it is able to track your location easily via the smart phone app, for example if you leave your home the system will register you aren’t there and will switch the heating off. Likewise when the system picks up that you are nearly home it will switch the heating on.

It uses a feature called “Model Predictive Control” this feature takes into consideration the weather forecast and the speed in which you are travelling so that it can work out how quickly to heat up your home.

The system will go on the market in the UK at the start of November for £249, however will be offered at £6.99 a month for rent to those that may not wish to buy the system outright. However the biggest drawback is that as with a lot of regular heating systems, it doesn’t offer the ability to heat individual rooms, it’s a whole house scenario.
