Philips has introduced new Spotlights, LED Downlights and even a Disney-branded Storylight
Philips have released a new Hue BR30 downlight for homes across North America, these bulbs can be screwed into any accent, down light or spotlight to allow for more lighting options. The new bulb is similar to the original A19 Hue bulbs however it gives the home owner the option of a personalised home. The bulb itself is energy efficient and can save up to 75% compared to standard bulbs.
Many homes will have different versions of down lights such as:
The bulbs can be bought individually so that they can be easily added to an existing lighting system in the home or they can be bought in a pack of three, great news either way as your saving money on both options!
However a bigger announcement was released on Tuesday by Philips, they are due to expand their brand with the world wide Disney franchise. The new light that both are working on will be called the story light, the light itself is aimed at children so that the light can be installed in the child’s room and it works in sync with a story book. The new story light is believed to add to the ambiance in the room and help with story telling.
Filip jan Depaux the senior director at Philips Lighting, has mentioned that Lighting is growing every year, and that they are simply just offering home owners a lighting system which does more than just power on and off. He also said, “We want to offer people the opportunity to use their everyday lighting actively in order to create experiences which are more personalised to them – you can really light your life, just the way you want, wherever you want it placed.”
Back in spring of this year, Philips launched a Light strip which is an LED strip which is able to be cut to the size that is required and placed in whatever location necessary without the requirement for a standard light socket.
