"Electric chair" advert released by electrical Safety Register
The Electrical Safety Register has released a new campaign to help raise awareness of the dangers of not using registered electricians.
The Electrical Safety Register is a company that holds a large database of 34,000 qualified electricians for the public to use so they can be sure that the electrician they hire is legally qualified. The electricians on this register have to provide a sample of their work along with details of their premises, details of their equipment and documentation in order to register on the database successfully.
The video that was created called the “electric chair” is aimed at private landlords and the general public. The video warns that only electricians checked by trade associations such as the ECA (Electrical Contractors Association) should be used. The reason for this is that many people are choosing electricians that are not registered resulting in poor electrical work and electrical related accidents such as fires and shocks.
