Burglar Caught within 24Hrs through the use of a CCTV Camera

John P Phillips, took under 25 seconds to break into a Southsea tea factory and pocketing a sum of £535 cash. Just 24hrs after the incident occurred on Sunday Morning, he was found and arrested after being caught red handed on CCTV. John, aged 46 was later charged after appearing before Portsmouth’s Court.

‘All About Tea’ owner Andrew Gadsden was delighted with the job that the police had done in arresting the robber on the same day as the offence occurred, and for getting him to appear in court the following day with no option but to plead guilty due to the overwhelming evidence caught on CCTV Camera.

The CCTV footage was uploaded by Andrew to social media hours after it was discovered, in an attempt to stop it from occurring to him and his business again, and so that people will be careful when they see Phillips as well. Phillips will appear again on Monday to be sentenced by magistrates.
