- Keep your appliances clean including oven, grill, toaster, microwave and hob.
- Do not cook when you are tired or drunk (order in your favourite take away).
- Do not wear loose clothing when cooking (to prevent your clothing catching fire)
- Prevent hanging hand towels near the oven.
- Never leave electrical appliances unattended.
- Turn off the hob/oven when not at use
5. Unplug all the Electrical Appliances before Bed:
We are all guilty of charging our phones overnight however this can cause a fire hazard. Unplugging all the electrical appliances including the tv and chargers will help prevent a fire and increase the safety within your home. It is also important to never overload into an electrical outlet.
6. Regular Checks of Smoke Alarms:
It is vital to regularly maintain your fire safety systems by keeping them free from dust by regular cleaning. Smoke alarms must be tested weekly/monthly to ensure the fire system are operating correctly and smoothly.
