Apple hiring thousands of new engineers
Apple Inc. is hiring thousands of new engineers for their factories in China and Taiwan in an attempt to speed up product development so that they can release more products into the global market at a faster rate.
The vast hiring push shows Apples need for more engineers to specifically develop components for both the iPhone and iPad. In addition to this apple are increasing the number of supply managers in an attempt to improve factory conditions.
Last year Apple used the well-known website LinkedIn to target highly qualified engineers that previously/ currently worked for HTC, Inventec Corp and Quanta Computer Inc. in a bid to grab the best engineers out there.
Apple launched two mobile phones last year the 5S and 5C and this was the first time Apple had released two products at the same time. The company has been working with component suppliers in Asia to make two larger-screen iPhones this year.
Apple has been trying to grasp the market in China for years and recently the leading phone operator in China known as China mobile began selling iPhone on the market which has increased popularity of Apple across China.
The company has been growing globally. It had 80,300 full-time employees as of its annual report last September, up from 72,800 a year earlier.
Apple is moving to strengthen its manufacturing base in China even as the company moves a few production lines back to the U.S. Facing political pressure from lawmakers and activist groups over its extensive contract manufacturing footprint in Asia, Apple said in December it started manufacturing some Mac Pro personal computers in Austin, Texas. It has also opened a component plant in Mesa, Ariz.
