Company fined after their electronic gate trapped 3 year old child

A Wiltshire-based Camera Security Service Limited has been fined after a 3 year old boy was trapped in electric gates outside a primary school in Bournemouth. Thankfully a few people walking past the school saw the incident and managed to pull the youngster to safety, ensuring that was no serious injuries obtained.

The hearing that took place on Monday, heard how the company fitted the metal gates that following a HSE investigation failed to reach safety regulations forcing the company to pay £10,000.

Head teacher of the primary school, Sarah Dunn mentioned that she was satisfied with the final outcome of the case after 3 years and that the Devizes Company had been found guilty. She then closed by saying that since the incident and now in the future the school will work closely with the Council and HSE to ensure this incident never reoccurs again, by having all measures into consideration and better gate automation system.
