Lumicom Member Meteor Controls International Ltd is now a Registered Member of the Lumicom scheme Lumicom is a not-for-profit initiative of the Lighting Industry Federation – the national organisation representing the interests of producers of non-household luminaries in the UK. Lumicom’s objectives are to meet the compliance needs of lighting companies obligated under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. This requires producers (largely manufacturers and importers) of electrical and electronic products to pay for the treatment (including recycling) of WEEE.
New Kardex System installed We have installed 3 New state of the art Kardex systems to help save space and boost productivity. Each carousel consists of a series of shelves that rotate on command delivering selected items to staff at an ergonomically safe and convenient access point. The Kardex is an automated computer controlled vertical carousel which can operate both as a central inventory store or as an online materials handling solution. The Kardex requires only a few square meters of floor space and makes full use of the available ceiling height with its compact and rugged design. The "Goods to man" principle of automated order picking saves operators countless time consuming trips to and from rows of static shelving bays. The combined use of advanced control and software systems substantially reduces pick times and improves stock accuracy enormously
Unique PODs for Meteor We have teamed up with top software designers to create our own personalised software to run on our new state of the art EDAs. Our drivers will have everything they need to increase productivity and efficiency inside and outside the warehouse.
We're Expanding... Our expansion is well under way with completion due in the not so distant future. We plan to double the size of our current 9000 pallet automated warehouse which uses modern picking and packaging technology enabling us to process thousands of orders each day.  Watch this space!
