New Private Hospital Has Best IT systems avaliable for Patients

A new state of the art Private hospital has recently opened allowing patients to have the best IT technology services available. The $150 million, 200-bed Sunshine Coast University Private hospital has started using some of the most advanced technological equipment in Queensland.

Hospital CEO Kimberley Pierce stated that the biggest problem that the patients complained about was the fact that they didn’t feel that anyone knew they were there and often asked staff did you hear my bell. So they now introduced Australia’s 1st video nurse-call system which has solved this problem by immediately allowing the patient’s call to be answered by a member of staff using a ‘switchboard’ which brings them to the relevant department depending on the nature of the request. For example if it was simply to get a drink of juice it would be sent to housekeeping whereas if it was due to pain it would be sent to a registered nurse.

However, saying this Ms. Piece said that if any patients wished to use the traditional method of ringing a bell they could do so and they same goes when ordering food as the menu has now been upgraded to an Online Menu as it will select what food the patient could have and they would have to choose one of these options.

Due to all the IT systems being linked in with Queensland Health it means that upon admission, patients do not have to fill out the same personal details repeatedly. The hospital also has two theatres which are capable of streaming any operation through its data cables and electrical cables into a video conference room which will then allow the hospital to work closely with medical schools, to allow new medical students see operation first hand in a comfortable surrounding.
