Northern Ireland to Be Unaffected by Nuclear Power Plant

With plans of a new nuclear power plant being built over in Somerset, England, it is highly unlikely that electricity users living in Northern Ireland will be affected, which means that Energy bills will remain at a high price.

Ministers are saying that the building of a nuclear power plant here in the UK will help lower carbon power and will encourage lower generating costs for the future. Katy Graham said “businesses and homeowners here will remain unaffected as Northern Ireland gets their electricity from the Irish Single Electricity Market.”

The establishment of this Power station will be the first step in securing the supply of electricity on a sustainable basis. However despite all this Katy Graham, still fears that the cost of electricity still poses a worry and that the switchover to energy saving lamps and other appliances are strongly advised to help keep energy costs down.

Another way to keep down energy costs is using an immersion heater switch that only allows the immersion to be kept on for a certain period of time, for example for 15mins or 30mins. The reason that these switches are so effective is that if you turn your immersion on for a while in the morning and forget about it and it’s on all day this can put your electricity bill through the roof. However with this immersion switch in place it will prevent the immersion from being left on all day accidentally.
