Garo EV Chargers

Garo Electrical’s EV charging stations are some of its most popular products, and it is no surprise that Garo has solidified itself as the Nordic region’s market-leading manufacturer and supplier of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

Garo EV chargers and EV charging stations offer comprehensive charging solutions for all kinds of domestic and commercial applications such as businesses, organisations, homes, hotels, shopping centres, car parking areas, and service stations. Garo Electrical also has an impressive record of completing installations in various high-profile facilities including Facebook, Musgraves, County Council Offices, and more.

The main purpose of Garo EV chargers is to recharge the battery of an electric vehicle to keep the vehicle in motion. You will find that most Garo EV charging stations are charged with either direct current (DC) power, or alternating current (AC) electricity into DC which then sends this power to the vehicle’s charging port.

At Meteor, we provide various options for Garo EV charging stations that can be used at public charging points.

Garo Public Fast EV Charging Station

Garo Single-Phase Meter Vs Three Phase Meter for EV Charging

The primary purpose of single-phase and three-phase meters for EV charging is to measure energy consumption, monitor its quality and communicate this information efficiently from the meter itself to the concentrator or cloud. This way, the user can manage the use of energy through load management. Through the use of single-phase and three-phase meters for EV charging, it is possible to figure out where and when to invest or build more AC/DC Garo EV chargers. The advantages of this are lower costs, higher reliability, as well as reduced tampering and carbon emissions.

Garo Electrical UK’s single-phase meters are the direct-connected type and are fit for use in applications such as rental housing, hotel apartments, and other places. Garo single-phase meters are used for intelligent metering of active power or reverse active power. This Garo Electrical device has a maximum current of 45A and a minimum current of 0.25A/0.02A.

On the other hand, Garo three-phase meters for EV charging are generally used in larger areas such as factories, government buildings, villas, large department stores, etc. The reason for this is because the electricity demand in these spaces is much larger, so Garo three-phase meters are the best choice; they can also be added to the use of transformers.

Garo three-phase meters are specifically designed to measure energy consumption and its quality factor, as well as provide means to prevent tampering. You can find a good and high-quality range of Garo single-phase and three-phase meters for EV charging here at Meteor

Garo Enclosed Switchgear

Garo enclosed switchgear products are a switchgear assembly that is completely enclosed on all sides and topped with a sheet of metal that contains primary power circuit switching or interrupting devices, with buses and other connections.

Garo enclosed gear available at Meteor such as the Metal Enclosure IP65 400x300x200 c/w Base Plate and Metal Enclosure IP65 300x250x150 c/w Base Plate are integral parts of an electric power system as a whole; they protect the electrical hardware from all types of faulty conditions.

Garo metal-enclosed switchgear is connected to electric supply systems and can be used in both low and high-voltage power transformers. The main purpose of Garo’s metal-enclosed switchgear is to de-energize setup for maintenance and repair to correct faulty issues.

Garo enclosed switchgear comes with an IP chart rating of IP65 and is complete with a mounting plate. In addition to having a resistance of impact of IK09, this Garo Electrical device also has a maximum voltage of 1000 volts. The Garo enclosed switchgear itself is made with high-quality materials and can easily be fastened directly to the wall by using outside flanges.

Garo Control Consumer Units

Garo consumer units or consumer boards are a type of distribution board which are an important component of electrical power systems in which an electrical power feed supplies subsidiary circuits. Meteor’s range of Garo consumer board products is capable of distributing electricity from the main supply to the individual circuits around a property.

Garo control consumer units serve the primary purpose of powering all the various circuits in your home and are made up of different parts such as mains switches, residual current devices (RCD’s), and circuit breakers. It is important to know where the Garo control consumer unit in your space is located in case there is ever an emergency and you have to turn it off or on.

What is the difference between the fuse box and the Garo consumer board?

In simple words, a consumer unit is assumed to be a modern and safer version of the typical fuse box – in many cases and applications, the traditional fuse box is no longer compliant with current electrical regulations and consumer boxes like those produced by Garo are required. If your domestic or professional space still has an old fuse box fitted, it will be better to replace it with a Garo control consumer unit. Garo Shower Boards

Meteor’s range of Garo shower boards are available in both metal and plastic; this Garo Electrical device is designed to facilitate the use of two electric showers that are being supplied from a domestic 63A single-phase supply.

Both Garo showers can use <1.5kW of power each continuously – when one of them exceeds this power use, the Garo board will automatically cut the power to the second shower, which results in protecting the main supply fuse.

There are two types of Garo shower boards available at Meteor – the non-priority shower board and the priority shower board.

Garo priority shower units or shower boards are needed to allow one designated appliance (A/the master) to be given priority over the second appliance (B). The way this Garo shower board works is that whenever appliance A is using >1.5kW it will automatically cut the power supply to appliance B, regardless of whether appliance B is being used at the time.

On the other hand, Garo's non-priority shower boards restrict the power to one appliance respectively at a time. This means that whichever appliance is using >1.5kW first remains turned on and the power to the other appliance will be switched off until the other appliance in use is turned off, so no appliance is a priority of use.

It is good to note that the Garo priority board is very effective when it comes to controlling the load of an electric vehicle, specifically when an electric shower is also installed. The shower is connected as the Master and the EV is connected as the Slave. Once the Garo shower unit is activated, the supply to the EV is disconnected, protecting the main fuse in the process.
