Popular features from the previous model such as built in power supply for cameras, now an enviable 500ma per channel, have been retained however many new requested features have been added. Recordings can now be backed up directly to a USB stick (sometimes known as a flash drive). Images can be viewed sequentially or picture in picture as well as quad and the standard high quality Seagate SV35 drive can be easily replaced or upgraded if required. Overall the unit has a much simpler end user interface, more like a VCR than a PC and now at last most of the functions can be operated via a remote control.
